Custom cabinetry & joinery in Canberra.

Cabinets built to your exact kitchen — not forced into flat-pack modules. Soft-close drawers, walk-in and butler’s pantries, island benches, appliance towers and storage that actually suits how you cook. Australian-made, quality hardware, and a finish that lines up properly.

Cabinetry built for your kitchen, not the other way around.

Why custom beats forcing flat-pack to fit.

Flat-pack cabinets come in fixed module widths, so an installer fills the gaps with filler panels and you lose usable space. Custom cabinetry is built to your exact measurements — full-height to the ceiling, tailored to odd angles, and sized so every millimetre earns its keep. That matters in Canberra’s large stock of 1970s and 80s homes (Belconnen, Tuggeranong), where original openings rarely match today’s standard module sizes.

What we build.

  • Base & overhead cabinets with soft-close drawers and doors, built to your layout.
  • Walk-in & butler’s pantries — one of the most-requested upgrades in Canberra renovation kitchens.
  • Island benches with integrated storage, seating overhangs, power and waste.
  • Appliance towers & integrated cabinetry for ovens, microwaves and concealed fridges.
  • Clever internal storage — corner carousels, drawer dividers, bin pull-outs, spice and tray storage.
  • Matching joinery beyond the kitchen — laundry, study nooks and adjoining cabinetry in the same finish.

Materials & hardware.

We use Australian-made cabinets with a quality carcass and your choice of door finish — laminate for value and durability, polyurethane for a seamless painted look, timber veneer or solid timber for warmth. Hinges and drawer runners are reputable soft-close hardware matched to how hard the kitchen will be worked. We walk you through the trade-offs honestly rather than upselling the dearest option.

Manufacture & install timeline.

Custom cabinetry takes roughly 3–6 weeks to manufacture after design sign-off. We run that lead time in parallel with the rest of the planning, so it rarely adds to your on-site disruption. Install is precise — cabinets are scribed to the wall, levelled, and set ready for the benchtop template.

Compliance & older homes.

Cabinetry itself isn’t a licensed trade, but the renovation around it is — plumbing to AS/NZS 3500, electrical to AS/NZS 3000, all by ACT-licensed trades under the Construction Occupations (Licensing) Act 2004 through Access Canberra. In pre-1985 homes (and anywhere with the ACT’s Mr Fluffy loose-fill asbestos legacy from 1968–1980), we check for asbestos in old sheeting and floor coverings before stripping out the existing kitchen, and arrange licensed removal where needed.

Why we don’t cut corners.

Cheap cabinetry shows itself fast — sagging shelves, drawers that drop, doors that don’t sit square. We’d rather build it once, in Australian-made board with proper hardware, scribed and levelled on install. It costs more than the cheapest flat-pack, and it lasts. Pair it with a fitted stone benchtop and a properly planned layout and the kitchen works for decades. It’s also the backbone of any full renovation we do.
